Required Qualifications: PH.D in clinical psychology from APA – accredited program. Experience in behavioral treatment modalities, psychodynamic and cognitive psychotherapy, and psychometric testing. New York State License or Eligibility required. Minimum one year experience with pediatric population. Full time availability.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years experience in a hospital or medical school setting. Post doctoral fellowship in child psychology from an APA accredited program. Experience in teaching psychotherapy to psychiatric residents. Research experience highly desirable.
Responsibilities & Requirements: Program Director /clinician for 10 – bed child psychiatry inpatient unit at Stony Brook University Hospital. Psychological services to include:
- Patient screening.
- Program development.
- Group and individual psychotherapy consultations.
- Resident and medical school teaching.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. Anticipated start date: September 2011. Individuals will be selected on the basis of their training, clinical experience, research potential and their commitment to teaching. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine’s Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ). **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
