In this short article we’ve tried to expose the main differences between the real, natural hunger and food addiction. We try to identify the primary causes and possible modes to overcome this mental illness, often described as overeating or the so called “food addiction”.
Food addiction as any other addiction can be understood only when you really want to get rid of it – so people continue to eat, smoke and drink “for fun”, while they indeed want to eliminate their bad habits or worse – they are not coerced to this serious circumstance. How does it happen that people understand the harm of certain products but still use it?
To deal with the food addiction, you need to equip with knowledge about the nature of its occurrence. The fact is that while running in our brain signals like:“Oh no, I would not camp it, it’s so bad” and “oh yes, it is good, come one, just once” are different from brain areas using a rational and emotional neural circuits. The final decision depends on whether the chains are stronger and accordingly – will you eat a hamburger or and apple.
We hope that understanding the causes of different types of food addiction, will allow you easily to make the right choices to avoid overeating and do not stray from the path of healthy life.
Detox hunger
Craving for certain foods, like in alcohol dependence, smoking and drugs remind about addiction, but in a mild form. When you start to eat more properly, the body needs additional energy in order to clean and restore order. Fatigue, irritability and other ailments caused by the change of power because of those toxins that have been reliably in your body start to go outside to leave it forever. The same feel smokers and alcoholics if they decide to tie. A detox hunger illusion and desire to feel better or to be precise – do not feel worse. Exit – be patient and surround yourself with pleasant atmosphere, tasty and healthy products and if possible people like-minded. Change of power is already a lot of stress for body, so try other areas of your life to eliminate stress.
Starvation of nutrient
Ideally, man eats for two reasons – to gain energy and to compensate the lack of essential nutrients. When the man doesn’t get enough of food, the body begins to signal the desire to eat. However overeating various damaging foods, can lead to cardiovascular diseases and stomach aches.
So those people whose diet is not balanced, they may feel hungry even after meals. This vicious circle will continue until your food will not contain the required amount of nutrients. This type of hunger can’t “seize” high-calorie food, but it is easy to pass, as soon as you start to use quality sources of nutrients – fruits, vegetables and cereals.
The real hunger
This type of hunger is directly related to calories, or with the energy we get from food. If your energy costs exceed the amount of energy consumed, the body’s natural reaction is a desire to “charge up”. To determine how many calories a day you should eat, and to avoid overeating low nutrient foods, use the formula – multiply your ideal weight (possibly ideal is different from what you have now) to the “activity factor” – 26-30 for moderate active, 30-36 for the active and for more than 38 who are sporty. This will give you approximate figures regarding the necessary calories to your diet. Do not forget that it is worth more to take into account the load in different situations and individual digestive activity.
Emotional eating
Digestive and nervous activities are processes that can’t occur simultaneously. Therefore, depression and nervous tension can often cause lack of appetite or the opposite – overeating, when a person doesn’t want to experience certain emotions and switches to the food. Regardless of whether you eat or refuse to eat – the problem only temporarily recedes and your reluctance to deal with them can lead to anorexia or obesity in the long run. Out of this situation, only one-see their problems “in your face” and solve them once for all.
Hunger for memories
Our mind often associates certain people, emotional states and feelings with certain foods. Thus, the hot meat pies my grandmother, many in the first place cause thoughts of love and care and certainly nothing to do with animal, which had to be killed for it.
So if you want to be healthy now and not a “teeter past” with food, you should become more aware and do not forget what you end up eating.
