Soldiers of the Mind

For the most part, I think people not on the right path in life just “do not see it” or just do not know what to do to about it or they feel helpless to do anything. I believe realizing what is happening to you is life saving knowledge. This article is called “soldiers of the mind” because of my perception of how things work in our minds. So very often we want to be better,we feel motivated, inspired and we set out to do many wonderful things or perhaps just one wonderful thing. Maybe the idea was to take a home study course or maybe we decided to start an exercise program or a diet. We do this with good thoughts of being better!

In a short time we give up what we set out to do. We make many excuses about it. When we fail in our goal to bring about change I believe the soldiers of the mind are fighting against us. These soldiers can be otherwise described as “brain bugs” or “negative thought buggies” or “demons of the mind” or whatever. In any case these “bugs” are preventing us from reaching our potential, from being all we can be.
If you decide to take a home study course and want to learn about computers it may turn out that these soldiers of the mind arise and provide you with thoughts as they see it and it goes like this ” what do you think you are doing?” Is that computer stuff you are trying to learn?” “you cannot learn that stuff because you were not good in school” ” your brother called you stupid when you were in school “your teacher gave you that look” ” your mother said your report card was a bad one” and on and on it goes!
The “soldiers of the mind” are there to present the stated truths. Suppose all those things were said to you and about you, the mind is bringing it all up again and of course makes you feel very unmotivated, the thoughts you think effect the way you feel so you obviously feel that your efforts to learn computer stuff is fruitless. So what can we do? We need help on the battle field!

We need ammunition to throw at these “bugs”. This ammunition can be good thoughts, motivational thoughts, positive thoughts. My favourite good thoughts are ” I can!”, I can create!”, “I can do” to quote Burt Goldman ( the American Monk ). Another line of thought is “every day, in every way I am getting better and better, better than before ” to quote Jose Silva. The more good thoughts you are having the better because immediately you will feel better – the good thoughts are doing that to you. It is really important to train your brain to think positive, thoughts, good thoughts, motivational thoughts and in time every aspect of your life will start to change for the better and even your health is likely to benefit.

Here is a tip: if you have had a bad experience in the past and that memory keeps surfacing and holds you hostage – you can try remembering that experience in great detail. Then ask yourself how you felt about it at that the time and then how you feel about it now. As an example – your father said you were dumb at age 7. You remember it well! The hurt is real as you recall that day. But when you ask how you feel about it today the surprise may be that you feel differently now because you have matured and see things differently. You now realize the man was a jerk and what he said carried no weight and had nothing to do with your actual intellect. That childhood response can be let go by accepting the new way you feel about the incident. The hope is that this memory will now be something to be forgotten in the dead past as you move forward. If you have serious bad memories you should of course talk to your Doctor – now! Otherwise, there is help galore available at http://www.bustbrainbugs.com.
