There are numerous financial aid opportunities, but the following top 10 psychology scholarships are the best. Consider these top 10 psychology scholarships before applying for programs in this field:

  1. FastWeb: This is not actually a scholarship; it is a website that allows users to fill out a profile in order to search for the financial awards based on their qualifications, skills, interests and needs.
  2. Psi Chi: The National Honor Society in Psychology provides undergrad and grad students with numerous research grants every year.
  3. American Psychological Association: The APA provides scholarships and also provides students at all levels with a list of all the funding sources in their field.
  4. High schools, colleges and universities: The school you are attending or plan to attend may also offer psychology scholarships. It can’t hurt to find out what kind of funding is available and what the requirements are.
  5. NASP – ERT Minority Scholarship Program for Graduate Training: There are scholarships available to minority graduate students going to school either part time or full time to pursue a career in school psychology.
  6. Latino Health Scholars Program: This United Health Foundation and PacifiCare Foundation provide funds to certain bilingual and bicultural students in order to help them pursue careers in psychology and other areas of the health care field.
  7. Native American Assistance: Registered tribal members pursuing degrees in Guidance Counseling or Psychology may be eligible to receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
  8. Medical Service Corps (U.S. Army) Educational Benefits: The United States Army can help members pursue psychology degrees through the Health Profession Scholarship Program for Optometry and Psychology, as long as they are eligible to obtain the rank of Second Lieutenant and studying full time.
  9. Disadvantaged Students: Psychology graduate students that come from disadvantaged environments may be eligible for funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  10. Federal Financial Aid Programs: These programs, which are not technically scholarships, include Pell Grants, the Federal Work-Study Program, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program, the Stafford Loan Program, Federal PLUS Loans, the Perkins Loan Program and state sponsored loan and grant programs.
